South Staffs Water are offering grants for Chemical Stores for farmers

Chemical Storage for Farmers is an issue that is getting more pressing all the time.  If you have been managing the same farm for many years it can be challenging to make fundamental changes to the way essential chemicals are stored.  But the inconvenient truth is that if you don’t make the decision to improve the way chemicals are stored on the farm then someone else might make that decision for you.  This is something nobody wants to see happen.

Making your chemical storage safer and more secure doesn’t need to be either a headache or an expensive investment.  Sometimes an opportunity comes along that makes purchasing dedicated chemical storage cost nothing at all.

South Staffs Water are running a scheme to offer grants of up to £10,000 per farm in the Staffordshire Blithe Catchment area, as part of an extended scheme to promote catchment friendly land management.   South Staffs Water are on their third round of SPRING Scheme now with previous years growing in success.

The grants are not exclusively designed for the provision of chemical storage for farmers, but the good news is that it is looking highly likely that the grants can be used to pay the full amount of a Chemical Store, rather than just a percentage. We at Chemical Storage 4 Farmers have already helped a number of farmers with supplying their chemical stores.

The South Staffs Water grant next scheme opens October 2018, but they have told us that they are happy to talk to farmers before applications are officially open.  This is a great opportunity to solve the persistent issue of safe and secure chemical storage on a zero-outlay basis.

South Staffs Water haven’t published the exact details of October’s grant scheme yet, but to give you an idea of how the scheme has run in previous years you can visit the 2017 grant pages on their website
